• Finalists Melissa and Khaya joined by Ford Fiesta in their newly released music
As tension mounts ahead of the announcement of this year’s South African Idols winner this evening, the finalists have performed their singles and their respective music videos are now available to the public. For the first time both finalists shot music videos ahead of the live finale.
Long-time sponsor of the grand prize for the popular show, Ford spearheaded the making of the finalist’s music video. “Idols is one of South Africa’s largest reality competition. For almost a decade, the South African version of Idols has been one of the country’s biggest television shows and Ford has been proud to be a part of that success,” says Ford Marketing Manager, Gavin Golightly.
“For some years now there has been talk of a music video and this year Ford decided to sponsor the production of the two videos in order to ensure they are available immediately after the announcement.”
Finalists Melissa and Khaya have already captured the imagination of the public and felt right at home in front of the camera as they went about shooting the music videos for their new singles, ‘I could spend a life time’ and ‘Move’ respectively.
Also making a staring appearance in the productions is Ford’s popular Fiesta, which the winner will drive away in. The videos were shot at Joburg hotspots, Tokyo Star in Greenside and various hotspots in New Town.
Nevermachine, who have worked with star’s like Lira and previous Idols winner Elvis Blue were responsible for directing the videos, which have been generating quite a buzz ahead of the big announcement.
